We're officially halfway through the year. Whether the first six months have been horrible, stagnant, or absolutely incredible does not matter. You owe it to yourself to finish strong. Life doesn't always move in a straight line. Some years will be breakthroughs and others will be breakdowns. Some years will feel like nothing has changed at all and that is okay too. Regardless of the point you are at in your journey, your approach to the last six months should be the same.

What if the year has been rough? The first step is to embrace the stage that you are at in your journey. In my opinion, this is the easiest transition into the last six months because the motivation is already there. Sit down with yourself and write out what went wrong. This is auditing the damage. Next you want to extract the lessons. Ask yourself what did it teach you about your limits, habits, and mindset? Lastly, write out your plan to combat these actions for the rest of the year. Your goals may be the same or may need some readjustment, but either way make sure to write out what that plan looks like from here on out.

What if you have been coasting? It isn't necessarily a bad year, but nothing has changed from last year. I want to stress that this is not always a negative place to be, but it is very critical that you be honest with yourself in this transition. As we all know, comfort is the silent killer of progress, but maybe you are at the stage where repetition is actually your growth. Ask yourself if you are actually growing or just surviving? Write down what doubling your effort would look like and also write down if that is something you are capable of and/or comfortable doing. Lastly, write down what your next level looks like and if it is possible for your to make it to that level by the end of the year. There is no wrong answer to these questions besides not being the truth.

What if you are on fire? Crushing all your goals, elevating, and performing at a high level. This is awesome, but success has a tricky side effect called complacency. When you are doing well, its easy to slow down and get caught up in all your wins. This is where you want to reflect on all your success in a positive way, but also imagine how great your year will be if you finish just as strong. First, you want to reevaluate your goals and ask yourself are they still big enough. Next you want to write down what systems got you here and make sure not to abandon them, but figure out ways to make them even better if possible. Lastly, you want to shift your mindset from growth to mastery. Double down on your growth and stay as hungry as you were when you started the process. Rewrite your whys and your purpose to put everything in perspective.

So no matter where you are in the journey the process is still the same. Reflect, realign your goals, rebuild your discipline, and recommit to your process. You do not need a miracle, you just need momentum. Momentum begins when to you make the decision to finish what you started.
